In order for your computer to work effectively and efficiently you have to have your drivers working properly. Drivers are the components in your computer that communicate between your computer’s hardware and the operating system. If you have printers, monitors, speakers, and other peripheral pieces, the drivers are what allows them to work smoothly. The drivers typically come with your hardware and install automatically when you add the hardware.
However, these drivers need to be updated on occasion to ensure you have the latest version so they are compatible with your latest configuration. Also, as time goes by you may lose your installation disk and need to reinstall from time to time. Typically, the way this is done is to search on the Internet for the drivers and upload them. With a new installation, you typically have to go to the driver site and update them manually so they are the latest version from when it was loaded on the install disk and the time you actually installed it. This process can be cumbersome and time consuming. Plus, unless you are having a problem with one of your peripherals it is typically not something most people schedule as part of their routine PC maintenance. So, you may have outdated drivers that cause your computer to run slower than or not as efficiently as it could be. The solution is to have your computer update your drivers automatically. This process is relatively easy and inexpensive or even free.
