The Obama government seeks to almost double the wireless communication spectrum available for commercial use in the next 10 years, an effort that could significantly improve the ability of consumers to send and receive video and data with smartphones and other handheld devices.
President Obama will be a memorandum presidential elections on Monday to make signs available, that for the auction 500 megahertz spectrum that is now controlled by the federal government and private business objectives, government officials said Sunday. Most of it would be designated for commercial use in mobile broadband and related applications if aspects of the plan will need congressional approval.
The effort includes recommendations by the Federal Communications Commission in its National Broadband Plan, published in March and promotes the development of high-speed wireless broadband services made.
But some aspects could be complemented by television companies who are asked if they admit, unlike some of their frequencies to be auctioned. Cable companies could invest heavily in wired telecommunications networks by the new direction to lose.
