Though most laptop manufacturers in the field are expecting the ultrabook to be the next step portable computing evolution, it seems that Acer haven’t given up on the netbook yet. Acer’s latest model– the Aspire One D270 is currently being passed by the FCC and will be appearing in the stores very shortly.
The Aspire One D270 come with a 10 inch CrystalBrite LED backlit display with a 1024 x 600 of pixel resolutions, as well as a standard built in 0.3 mega pixel web camera. The netbook will be one of the first netbooks to come with latest Intel Atom N2600 Cedar Trail CPU–the 1.6GHz dual-core processor version. And the graphics of the netbook will be coming from the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600.
Acer have stuck with the tried and tested internal memory with the 1 GB of DDR3 RAM. However, the netbooks have gone large when it comes to storage with a 320 GB hard disk drive with the option to expand via the use of external SD slot.
Other features of the netbook include handy HDMI output for connecting to TV, three standard USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet LAN, as we;; as 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. It will be running Microsoft Windows 7 Starter operating system and comes with the Microsoft Office Starter edition as well.
